On October 17th, 2024, the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) at Politecnico di Torino hosted a seminar by the distinguished Prof. Robert Edward Breidenthal from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. Organized under the guidance of Prof. D. Tordella, the seminar, titled "How to Talk to a Turbulent Vortex," was held at Aula Perucca and drew an engaged audience of students, researchers, and professionals.
Prof. Breidenthal, an internationally recognized authority in fluid dynamics and aerodynamics, offered a deep dive into the challenges of turbulent vortex structures. With a career spanning decades, Prof. Breidenthal’s academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Aeronautics from Caltech and a professorship in Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Washington. His research has been supported by leading organizations like NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
