Curriculum Vitae
ESR2 - Floating cloud radiosondes data analysis from in-field and laboratory experiments
Objectives

Analysis of data produced by innovative expendable bio-compatible radio-probes released and floating in warm clouds. Comparison of field data with numerical simulations.

Expected Results

Advanced spectral and statistical data from such observations. Contribution to shaping our understanding of microphyscial processes in clouds. Generation of a Lagrangian database for pressure, temperature, humidity, aerosol concentration, velocity and acceleration fluctuations inside warm clouds over land and alpine environments.

Planned secondment(s)
  • ENV   (Torino)      Months 19-21 : probe features and use knowledge;
  • GRM  (Airing)       Month 25 : knowledge of the state of the art in measurement of aerosols;
  • UW    (Warsaw)   Months 29-30 : Session of experiments in the UW cloud chamber;
  • MPG   (Munich)   Month 36 : Participation to MPG in-field measurements at UFS.
Comments

I am half Italian, half Australian born in Belgium! I speak English, French, Italian and a little bit of (rusty) Dutch. I am an international swimmer and enjoy the occasional badminton match!

I have a background in Physics and Chemistry with a master thesis focusing on the decoration and intercalation of 2D tungsten diselenide with atomic and molecular species. My previous work experience was in the vacuum, surfaces and coatings lab in the technology department at CERN where I was working on amorphous carbon coatings for the super proton synchrotron (SPS).

I have recently been at the 26th summer school on parallel computing which was very interesting. I am now about to start working at the IIT (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia) in Genova on developing the smart materials made of vegetable waste onto which the electronics of the radio-probe will be printed.
